About the Department

It has been around six years since the Department of Physical Education and Sports was established in Y.S. Pawar Arts and Commerce College, Neri. Department is having Prof. Rakesh Borkar working as the department has been involved in various team level and individual sports at the institutes level. The institutes’ students has also achieved success in triple jump, high jump, running and sprint running in athletics on college level. Institutes’ students participates in various university level sports every year as per the rules of the university.

Yoga Day is celebrated on 21st June every year by the Department of Physical education and Sports. The topic of environmental protection has been read in the organization of an international seminar in the session 2022-2023. Exercise schools are run by the department to inculcate regular exercise habits in students. There are various playgrounds in the institute. It has kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball, badminton, basket-ball. In addition to outdoor sports indoor games like table tennis, chess and carom are also available. There is a 200 meter running track. Every year a physical examination and medical examination is done by the department. The department also encourages students to join a gymnasium available in the institutes’ premises.
